False Prophecies of Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon

As I’ve mentioned before there have been countless false prophecies uttered by Joseph Smith.  The Book of Mormon seems to be from none other than the fanciful imagination of Smith.  The characters stories, location, et al, are all non-existent.  That is according to the late Hugh Nibley, LDS Church historian.

AS GOD IS, MAN MAY BECOME
Dear Mormons, do you know the the nature of God? Can you put into your words what God is really like to you?  Odds are if we asked you to describe the nature of God your answer would be what you have long been taught to say; “God is a God of Flesh and Bone.”

Honesty, is that too much to ask?

Recently I re-watched a video that features a BYU professor named Bob Millet. In the video he’s instructing a roomful of Mormon missionaries how to only answer the questions the investigators “should have asked” and not be honest them, nor willing to supply the correct answer to their question.

Jesus is the Only Way

By Melissa Grimes

I recently come upon this quote by Gordon B. Hinckley:

“Just as our Redeemer gave His life as a vicarious sacrifice for all men, and in so doing became our Savior, even so we, in a small measure, when we engage in proxy work in the temple, become as saviors to those on the other side who have no means of advancing unless something is done in their behalf by those on earth” (“Closing Remarks,” Ensign, November 2004, 105).

Worship Music

Last night my family and I went to our first Casting Crowns concert. I don’t think there are enough adjectives in the English language to describe how it felt there. It was evident the Holy Spirit was there with us as we worshiped together. Standing there with the body of Christ as we sang praise to Him was unlike anything I experienced in Mormonism. I’ve attended many General Conferences, pageants, and other Mormon gatherings in the past, and the presence of God was always absent.

North Korea and Mormonism – 2006

Last week Kirk and I took a rare opportunity to sit and watch television one night last week.  About the only thing that remotely appealed to us was a documentary that Diane Sawyer did on North Korea so that’s where we parked the channel.  We haphazardly listened while talking about the day’s events that we’d forgotten to share with each other when we both turned to the television at the same time and said; “Hey she’s talking about a cult”!

Are Mormons as good as Christians?

This question was posed on a blog I read several years ago and is a recurring   question I’m asked on a regular basis.

Nonie Darwish

I had the great blessing and opportunity to listen to a woman speak at my church this past weekend that once again proved to me the God I worship is mighty indeed.  The woman’s name is Nonie Darwish and for those of you who haven’t heard of this sister in the Lord, you have missed out on hearing what God is really capable of doing!

Contradictions Between Bible and Book of Mormon

2 Timothy 3:7; “Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

The scripture above is the theme of this article.  Please, pray for the Mormon people won’t you?  Below are just some of the contradictions we’ve found between the Bible and the Book of Mormon.  For a more detailed list of contradictions in the Triple Combination we offer a book written by Colleen Ralson in our bookstore which I highly recommend!

False Prophecies of Joseph Smith

Because it goes without saying all of the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price are false prophecies from Joseph Smith, we thought we’d look beyond those three volumes of work to investigate other things Smith prophesied about so here we go!

Secrets, none

Alma 37:25; I will bring forth out of darkness unto light all their secret works and their abominations; and except they repent I will destroy them from off the face of the earth; and I will bring to light all their secrets and abominations, unto every nation that shall hereafter possess the land.

Crucifixion, Three Hours of Darkness vs. Three Days of Darkness at

3 Nephi 8:3; And the people began to look with great earnestness for the sign which had been given by the prophet Samuel, the Lamanite, yea, for the time that there should be darkness for the space of three days over the face of the land.

REVELATIONAL STANDARD

Mormons believe that revelation, not the bible, is the final authority in all matters of doctrine. If that is true, how then do they protect themselves from deceptions of the enemy?

Adam and Eve’s Sin and the New Mormon Website

    In my daily LDS Gems e-mails I received notice today (February 26, 2008) of another new website launched by the Church.  Here in part is what it said;

“The new site is a helpful resource for anyone who wishes to know firsthand what Latter-day Saints believe about Jesus Christ. It is also a valuable reference that Church members can use as they share their beliefs with others.”

Mormonism: Solid Rock or Sinking Sand?

Not long ago I heard an old hymn for the first time that many of you are probably familiar with; it’s called “The Solid Rock”.   As I read over the words to this wonderful song I thought of the LDS Church, and how their doctrines are not centered on Jesus Christ.

Contradictions in the Doctrine and Covenants

Today we’re wondering why the prophecy declared by Joseph Smith contradicts what has taken place in the Mormon Church.  As you’ll see from the text, God told Joseph that whoever performs or declares more than repentance and coming to Christ is not in obedience.

JESUS LOVES THE LITTLE CHILDREN

If you grew up in the body of Christ I’m sure you remember that song.  I first learned of it not as a child as most Christians do, but when my children came home from church to sing it to me.

I can still remember crying after hearing it the first time and asking the Lord to forgive me for taking part in anything Mormon.  The song goes on to say; “Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight, Jesus loves the little children of the world”.

The video below is a clip of Rob Bell being interviewed on Fox & Friends.

What caught my attention wasn’t Mr. Bell’s false theory on hell, but the picture right behind him and Gretchen Carlson.

Osama bin Laden and Baptisms for the Dead

So here at the ministry we were wondering how long it’s going to take for the Mormon Church to posthumously baptize Osama bin Laden and who would take on the task of being baptized for the dead to ensure his salvation.
