June 30 – 2 Peter 2:1; “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.”

Blacks in the Mormon Church
On February 26, 2005 I saw an article on my Google-alert that I just couldn’t ignore. It said; ‘Latter-day Saints face race issue’. This subject has always fascinated me so I clicked on the article to find out that a man by the name of Darron Smith, has written a book entitled; ‘Black and Mormon’.

African Americans and Utah Mormonism
If we are blessed to live long enough, we can go back in the annals of our personal lives and see defining moments that have impacted us enough to help define who we have become. We can choose to either accept or reject these events for both good and bad. It wasn’t until I got out of the Church that I realized I had experienced a few of those moments I now I refer to as my “altar moments”.

Ezra Taft Benson
Journal of Discourses 6:181; “The next man who came on to the carpet wanted to know how many wives brother Brigham had. I replied, “I have not come here to lay before this people the domestic affairs of my Governor. It is a question I never asked him myself, for I never took the pains to inquire anything about it. But still, as I am a Yankee, I will guess, if that will do you any good. Now,” said I, “I will be honest with you, for your pastor has given me the freedom of speech; and if I may judge for appearances, I should presume he has some fifty or sixty.””

Anniversary of the killing of Joseph Smith
On June 27, 1844 a group of men known as the Carthage Greys headed to the holding cell of Joseph and Hyrum Smith, John Taylor and Willard Richards. When they got there a gun battle would ensue, leaving Joseph and Hyrum Smith dead as well as two others from the Carthage Greys. Joseph Smith was the reason the two other men were killed. History of the Church 6:617-621.

A Woman’s Duty is to Bring Forth Spirit Babies
Journal of Discourses 4:56; “Do you understand this? I have told you many times that there are multitudes of pure and holy spirits waiting to take tabernacles, now what is our duty?—to prepare tabernacles for them; to take a course that will not tend to drive those spirits into the families of the wicked, where they will be trained in wickedness, debauchery, and every species of crime. It is the duty of every righteous man and woman to prepare tabernacles for all the spirits they can; hence if my women leave, I will go and search up others who will abide the celestial law…This is the reason why the doctrine of plurality of wives was revealed, that the noble spirits which are waiting for tabernacles might be brought forth.” – Brigham Young, Salt Lake City, September 21, 1856

Five Reasons the Book of Mormon is Confusing
Especially for Missionaries, vol. 1; “The purpose of the Book of Mormon is fivefold. First, it stands as a second testament or witness for Jesus Christ. Second, it authenticates the Bible. Third, it shows the goodness of God to his children. Fourth, it makes people aware of the promises that God has made to his children. And fifth, it restores to earth many plain and precious truths that have been lost since the fulness of the gospel existed.”

Three Nephite Apostles Never Die
If 3 of the Nephite apostles never died then why did Joseph Smith say there wasn’t any church on the face of the earth that was obeying God? This is a huge contradiction and makes absolutely no sense!
Introduction of 3 Nephi 28. “Each of the twelve is granted his heart’s desire – Three elect to remain on earth until the Lord comes in his glory…They are made immune to death and disaster”.
