Baptisms for the Dead
Moroni 10:26 says there is no salvation for those who die in their sins. Why baptize for the dead?

Did God Create or Organize the Earth?
Mosiah 5:15; “Therefore, I would that ye should be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in good works, that Christ, the Lord God Omnipotent, may seal you his, that you may be brought to heaven, that ye may have everlasting salvation and eternal life, through the wisdom, and power, and justice, and mercy of him who created all things, in heaven and in earth, who is God above all. Amen.”

Food Storage
From www.lds.org; “We have been counseled to store food, clothing, fuel, and other necessary items, such as those needed for first aid and sewing, to take care of our families’ needs for a year…The Lord has counseled, “If ye are prepared ye shall not fear” (D&C 38:30)…Elder Ezra Taft Benson said: “Thanks be to God for a prophet, for this inspired [welfare] program, and for Saints who so managed … that they could provide for their own and still share with others. What a marvelous way to become a savior on Mount Zion!” (in Conference Report, Oct. 1973, 93; or Ensign, Jan. 1974, 82).”

Mormon Dilemma 97
If the following statement made by the Mormon Apostle Richard Scott is true then why are there two completely different accounts given of creation in the Standard works of Mormonism? Here’s what he said at the October 2011 General Conference:
“Because scriptures are generated from inspired communication through the Holy Ghost, they are pure truth. We need not be concerned about the validity of concepts contained in the standard works since the Holy Ghost has been the instrument which has motivated and inspired those individuals who have recorded the scriptures.”

Who holds the keys to the priesthood in the LDS Church?
The Mormon Apostle Bruce McConkie had this to say about the keys of Mormon priesthood;
“President Joseph F. Smith said: “What is a key?’ It is the right or privilege which belongs to and comes with the priesthood to have communication with God. Is not that a key? Most decidedly. We may not enjoy the blessings, or key, very much, but the key is in the priesthood. It is the right to enjoy the blessing of communication with the heavens, and the privilege and authority to administer in the ordinances of the gospel of Jesus Christ…You who hold the priesthood have the key or the authority, the right, the power or privilege to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ…” (Gospel Doctrine, 5th ed., p. 142.)” – Mormon Doctrine, pg. 410

Creation
The book of Moses in the Pearl of Great Price is the account of the creation. Moses 2:1-31 is much like the account of the creation as told in the Bible. Now if we skip over to Abraham chapters 4 and 5 in the Pearl of Great Price we see an entirely different story of the creation. Here it tells the Mormon that the ‘Gods’ created the earth and then created man. This is just one example of how the Mormons became confused.

LDS Temples
The number of LDS temples is extensive and should be taken seriously when we’re praying for those who are lost in the web of Mormonism. The talk of temples was part of the focus at the last General Conference in October 2011 so we thought it’d be a good idea to list those here and share with you what a couple of the Mormon leaders had to say about their temples.

Jesus Appointed as Savior Contested
Abraham 3:27-28; “And the Lord said: Whom shall I send? And one answered like unto the Son of Man: Here am I, send me. And another answered and said: Here am I, send me. And the Lord said: I will send the first. 28 And the second was angry, and kept not his first estate; and, at that day, many followed after him.”

Mormon E-mails November 2011
The Mormon e-mails we’ve received in the past couple of months have been brutal. I’m asking all our Christian friends and supporters to lift us in prayer during this time and pray for the Mormons as well. For whatever reasons their correspondence with us has been less than stellar in the Christian values they claim to espouse.

Truth
Boyd Packer has been a source of quotes for us here at LAM because of the contradictory and heretical teachings that come from his mouth while standing at a pulpit. And this time his teachings have proven themselves to be no different than other times.
On Sunday evening, November 6, 2011 the Deseret News published an article highlighting the speech he gave to an audience of young LDS members eager to hear some prophetic and wisdom filled words from the Mormon apostle.

Lamanites Cursed Until All Gentiles Convert
August 1889, Contributor 10:364; “The remnant of the Lamanites who are cursed below all humanity that we are acquainted with—who have been filled with the spirit of bloodshed which they have inherited from their fathers—they will embrace the Gospel in the due time of the Lord. They are of the house of Israel, and this spirit of war will be taken from them and they will become the children of God, but not until the Gentiles have entirely rejected the Gospel. Anciently it was preached to the Jews first and then to the Gentiles; in the latter times it will be first preached to the Gentiles and then to the Jews—the first shall be last and the last first.”

Joseph Smith Venerated
Selected Writing of Daniel H. Ludlow: Gospel Scholars Series, pg. 488; “Elder Neal A. Maxwell suggested that the word venerate might be appropriate for Joseph Smith: “The Prophet Joseph Smith, of course, was not a perfect man. There has been only one such—Jesus Christ. But Joseph Smith was a special witness for Jesus Christ. . . . We do not, as some occasionally charge, worship Joseph Smith, nor place him on a par with Jesus. But we do venerate him, remembering, hopefully that the highest and best form of veneration is emulation.””

Ed Decker’s Discussion about Osteen’s comment on Cross Talk with Vic Eliason
Ed Decker had the opportunity to be interviewed by Vic Eliason, host of the radio show Cross Talk. We thought we’d share the link with our readers for you to hear what other Christians are saying about the comments made by Joel Osteen. It was a great program!
Enjoy!

Bible, Many Errors and Contradictions
Answers to Gospel Questions 2:161; “”No Man Hath Seen God at Any Time”—a Mistranslation. No Bible student today believes that the Bible has come down to us in its perfect and original appearance in the manuscripts. Scribes left out words and phrases, just as we do at times in typing, missing one whole line and thus changing the meaning. Moreover, the scribes added or interpreted according to their own opinions at times. These things are quite generally understood. Therefore we find errors and contradictions in the Bible. There are too many passages which declare very definitely that God did appear, “face to face,” with his ancient servants. Therefore, passages which declare that no man has seen him, must be in error.” – Joseph Fielding Smith, Jr.

The Mormon Jesus
Ensign Article November 2011, “The Teachings of Jesus”
We could sit at our computers all day, every day of the year to write and publish articles and that’d be okay. However, none of those articles mean anything or can do anything if we don’t have the right understanding of Jesus.
