Lies of Brigham Young
Journal of Discourses 16:162-163; “I am here to answer. I shall be on hand to answer when I am called upon, for all the counsel and for all the instruction that I have given to this people. If there is an Elder here, or any member of this Church, called the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who can bring up the first idea, the first sentence that I have delivered to the people as counsel that is wrong, I really wish they would do it; but they cannot do it, for the simple reason that I have never given counsel that is wrong; this is the reason.”
Psalm 101:7; “He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.”
Let’s begin with polygamy.
That isn’t from God and it was taught as such from your lips to the members ears Mr. Young. Then there’s the teaching that Adam is God.
Then we come across the teachings of polytheism.
Next we find the doctrine of the Holy Ghost not residing inside of believers because he could get females pregnant…need I go on?
“Next we find the doctrine of the Holy Ghost not residing inside of believers because he could get females pregnant…need I go on?”
YIKES! The more I read the more I learn of this stuff! Where does that come from?
You can’t forget the discourse on the “inhabitants of the Sun and the Moon”…
Speaking of Polytheism…
Ed Decker shared the following at the end of one of his articles on Mormonism…
When I’m approached by LDS who want to tell me how wonderful their church is, I always tell them how much I admire aspects of their religion and mention that we still have friends who are faithful members.
“But, you know,” I say, “the one thing I simply can’t get past is trying to reconcile the polytheism of your church with Christianity, which is forthrightly monotheistic.”
One “Elder” responded, “But we worship only one god,” at which point I explained that polytheism has nothing to do with the number of gods you worship but the number you believe in.
By that standard, both Joseph Smith and B.H. Roberts have made it clear that Mormonism is a polytheistic faith.
Second thought…is this one of those cause/effect things? Did They think (falsely) that because the Son was begotten by God and concieved by the Holy Spirit in Mary, that ALL females who have the Holy Spirit in them, will get pregnant? How rediculous and unBiblical a thought!
