Are You Trusting Your Prophet?
When I became a Christian I learned in God’s word to trust in Him and His word and not fallible mankind. I also learned it’s okay and even encouraged to verify what people say is truth to ensure you’re not tricked into believing a lie.
Ask your Mormon loved ones if they trust in their prophet and tell them you’ve read 2 Nephi 28:31;
“Cursed is he that putteth his trust in man, or maketh flesh his arm, or shall hearken unto the precepts of men, save their precepts shall be given by the power of the Holy Ghost.”
You might want to share with them this is actually Jeremiah 17:5; “Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.”
2nd Nephi was written circa 545 BC – long after they’d left Jerusalem. How would they have access to Jeremiah’s writings if they had already left Jerusalem?
What are their thoughts about this verse in Nephi?
Glad to see that you’ve equated all prophets as infallible. So you’d have advocated against following Moses? Ezekiel?
So anonymous where did you get the idea I “equated” all prophets as infallible?
You sound angry is there a problem?
If Moses or Ezekiel had uttered false prophecies then yep, I would’ve warned people against them as well.
Why would it be okay to let false teachers keep teaching false things?
If you have kids do you teach them that lying is okay?
Furthermore, why did the authors of the BoM have to use phrases and writings of the Bible if the Bible was/is mistranslated?
