1 Nephi 14:28, 30; “And behold, I, Nephi, am forbidden that I should write the remainder of the things which I saw and heard; wherefore the things which I have written sufficeth me; and I have written but a small part of the things which I saw. 30 And now I make an end of speaking concerning the things which I saw while I was carried away in the spirit; and if all the things which I saw are not written, the things which I have written are true. And thus it is. Amen.”
1 Corinthians 14:33; “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.”
Wait a minute here – didn’t Nephi just say the things he saw aren’t written? Why did he then say at the last sentence “…if all the things which I saw are not written…”?
Dear Mormon – what if anything does this passage of scripture do for you personally in your walk with the Lord?
Is there a new truth you’ve learned about Jesus in this that you can hold onto during times of duress in your life? Is there a promise or hope you can hold to and share with others in a tangible way to give others hope?
Are there any historical aspects of this supposedly Egyptian speaking Jewish tribe that can give you references to why he said these things and why it was important for the Jews to know these things?
Why did Nephi contradict himself? He said that he couldn’t write all the things he saw and then he said “…if all the things I saw are not written…” Why would he say this?
Why would Nephi write this confusing message and hammer or carve them into plates of brass when they repeatedly said they had limited space to share their message?
Did you know that God warned the Israelites from intermarrying with anyone outside of the nation of Israel to prevent their language from being defiled which would lead them away from worshiping the true God? Nehemiah 13:24-26.
