Daniel 2:34-35; “Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. 35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.”
Acts 4:10-12; “Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

Stone cut without hands…filled the whole earth. What a visual for us the Lord provided! To imagine that anyone or anything else is needed for our salvation is blasphemous indeed. Sadly, each and every Mormon is faced with the reality that a great many other things are needed in addition to Jesus’ name. I pray they would think upon Daniel’s words that the iron, clay, gold, brass and silver became like chaff and were all carried away in the wind.

Journal of Discourses 6:229; “Now, brethren, this is a consolation to us all. Believe in God, believe in Jesus, and believe in Joseph his Prophet, and in Brigham his successor. And I add, “If you will believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is the Christ, and Joseph was a Prophet, and that Brigham was his successor, you shall be saved in the kingdom of God,” which I pray, in the name of Jesus, may be the case. Amen.” – Joseph Young, Salt Lake City, July 26, 1857
