September 13 – Romans 10:15-17; “And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!  But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

September 12 – Psalms 137:6-7; “If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.  Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof.”

September 11 – Hebrews 4:12; “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

September 10 – 2 Corinthians 5:19-21; ‘To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.  Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.  For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.’

salt lake mormon temple 2Reed Smoot Case, Vol. 1, pg 9; ““At the Sanpete Stake Conference, September, 1889, George Q. Cannon, first counselor to President Snow, states:

“The people of the world do not believe in breeding, but we do. So the people of the world will die out and we will fill the whole earth. I admit that those raising children by plural wives are not complying with man made laws, but in the sight of God they are not sinning, as there is no sin in it.””

salt lake mormon temple 2Journal of Discourses 4:224; “Do you suppose that Joseph and Hyrum and all those good men would associate with those ancient worthies, if they had not been engaged in the same practices? They had to do the works of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, in order to be admitted where they are;-they had to be polygamists in order to be received into their society. God knows that I am not ashamed of those good men now, and how much more I shall prize my associate polygamists, when I am further advanced in knowledge, I do not know. I am talking in earnest, and from the experience I have had.” – Heber C. Kimball, Salt Lake City, February 8, 1857

salt lake mormon temple 2The following false teaching of the LDS Church is riddled with half truths, precocious lies and sufficient evidence to show heresy.

We’re taking a close look at the first half of this First Presidency Message to show Christians how what they’ve said doesn’t line up with the word of God.  Let’s get started shall we?

“STATEMENT OF THE FIRST PRESIDENCY
REGARDING GOD’S LOVE FOR ALL MANKIND
February 15, 1978

Take notice of the date because it’s going to prove they’re false teachers and lied about what they believe.

Based upon ancient and modern revelation, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gladly teaches and declares the Christian doctrine that all men and women are brothers and sisters, not only by blood relationship from common mortal progenitors but as literal spirit children of an Eternal Father.

salt lake mormon temple 2Mormon Doctrine pg. 670; “Salvation in its true and full meaning is synonymous with exaltation or eternal life and consists in gaining an inheritance in the highest of the three heavens within the celestial kingdom. With few exceptions this is the salvation of which the scriptures speak. It is the salvation which the saints seek. It is of this which the Lord says, “There is no gift greater than the gift of salvation.” (D. & C. 6:13.) This full salvation is obtained in and through the continuation of the family unit in eternity, and those who obtain it are gods. (D. & C. 131:1-4; 132.)”

Brigham to be President

salt lake mormon temple 2Journal of Discourses 5:219; “…as for our enemies, they have cursed themselves with all the curses they can bear; and the cursing that are on them they never can get off, neither can those who sustain them. The Church and kingdom to which we belong will become the kingdom of our God and his Christ, and brother Brigham Young will become President of the United States. [Voices responded, “Amen.”]” – Heber C. Kimball, Salt Lake City, September 6, 1856

Romans 3:13-18; “Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: 14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: 15 Their feet are swift to shed blood: 16 Destruction and misery are in their ways: 17 And the way of peace have they not known: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

Blessings of Exaltation

Gospel PrinciplesGospel Principles, pg 277; “What are some blessings that will be given to those who are exalted? Our Heavenly Father is perfect, and He glories in the fact that it is possible for His children to become like Him. His work and glory is “to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man” (Moses 1:39).

Those who receive exaltation in the celestial kingdom through faith in Jesus Christ will receive special blessings. The Lord has promised, “All things are theirs” (D&C 76:59). These are some of the blessings given to exalted people:

1. They will live eternally in the presence of Heavenly Father and

Jesus Christ (see D&C 76:62).

2. They will become gods (see D&C 132:20–23).

3. They will be united eternally with their righteous family members and will be able to have eternal increase.

4. They will receive a fulness of joy.

5. They will have everything that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have—all power, glory, dominion, and knowledge (see D&C 132:19–20).

President Joseph Fielding Smith wrote: “The Father has promised through the Son that all that he has shall be given to those who are obedient to His commandments. They shall increase in knowledge, wisdom, and power, going from grace to grace, until the fulness of the perfect day shall burst upon them.”

Grace is a Lie

Miracle of Forgiveness, pg 206; “One of the most fallacious doctrines originated by Satan and propounded by man is that man is saved alone by the grace of God; that belief in Jesus Christ alone is all that is needed for salvation. Along with all the other works necessary for man’s exaltation in the kingdom of God this could rule out the need for repentance. It could give license for sin and, since it does not require man to work out his salvation, could accept instead lip service, death-bed “repentance,” and shallow, meaningless confession of sin.” – Spencer W. Kimball

Angels and Men

Journal of Discourses 9:103; “All the difference between men and angels is, men are passing through the day of trial that angels have already passed through. They belong to the same family that we do; but they have proven themselves worthy only of an exaltation to the state of angels, whereas we have the privilege of obtaining not only the same exaltation they enjoy, but of going further until we become Gods, even the sons of God.” – Brigham Young, Salt Lake City, January 5, 1860

Godhood Means Salvation

Teachings of Spencer W. Kimball, p. 153; “Each command we obey sends us another rung up the ladder to perfected manhood and toward godhood; and every law disobeyed is a sliding toward the bottom where man merges into the brute world.”

Every single thing a Mormon does in his/her life is because they feel they’re working their way to becoming a god or goddess someday. Without this achievement there is no true salvation for the Mormon. Sadly they don’t trust anything from the Bible unless their inspired leaders have given them the okay to believe little passages here and there. And they typically don’t trust information from any outsiders.

Imagine isolating yourself and then believing that if you’re not perfect you keep sliding down to hell.

Living a righteous life is admirable, but living righteously apart from God and believing you’re going to heaven is fooling yourself.

Polytheism

The Seer, pg 23; “The Gods who dwell in heaven…were once in a fallen state…they were exalted also, from fallen men to celestial Gods.” – Orson Pratt

1 Corinthians 2:14; “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

It makes ya wonder about the imaginations of the teachers who come up with these wild tales. If they spent half the time studying the Bible as they did making this stuff up it would’ve made for a great organization!

Jesus the Son of Adam

Journal of Leonard John Nuttal, vol.1, p.18-21; “Prest Young was filled with the spirit of God & revelation & said…Father Adam’s oldest son (Jesus the Savior) who is the heir of the family is Father Adam’s first begotten in the spirit world.” – John Nuttal, Wednesday Feb. 7, 1877

There is absolutely nothing in the Bible resembling this heresy.

Whenever a Mormon tells me they’re a Christian and don’t understand why people won’t accept them I think of teachings like this one and wonder why they’re offended. It’s so far removed from what the Bible teaches and doesn’t resemble Jesus at all.

Hell isn’t Always Eternal

Encyclopedia of Mormonism, pg 586; “A third meaning of “hell” (second spiritual death) refers to the realm of the devil and his angels, including those known as sons of perdition (2 Pet. 2:4; D&C 29:38; 88:113; Rev. 20:14). It is a place for those who cannot be cleansed by the Atonement because they committed the unforgivable and unpardonable sin (1 Ne. 15:35; D&C 76:30-49). Only this hell continues to operate after the Resurrection and Judgment.”

Hell doesn’t Exist

Salvation through Works

Third Article of Faith; “We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel”

They apparently have a different interpretation for the word atonement. Pray that Jesus opens the mind of one Mormon today and wonder why this teaching contradicts itself.

Joseph Smith is Preeminent and Above All Others

“The Certain Sounds,” Church News, October 9, 1983, p. 24; “No man holds divine authority equal to or above the president of the Church. In his position he is pre-eminent!
“Let us understand fully the clear identity of the president of the Church. He is the mouthpiece of God on earth for us today.”
