When my Mormon grandfather passed away at the age of 92, he was the "oldest Boy Scout" in America... He was born in 1898 and sworn in to "The Little Scouts" in England by the founder, Baden Powell. Our San Diego County Council (mostly made up by LDS troops) had an award named after him, "The Giles Davies Award"... the term "rolling over in his grave" applies here ten-fold.

Not only this, but what about the "gay-pride" parade they had in downtown SLC??? Speechless...

jagsfan - Great to have you here on the webpage... Sadly, in recent history, there have been many network and reality TV shows that have slowly infiltrated our society that "glorify" or "normalize" the abhorrent practice of polygamy (What the LDS and FLDS church calls "Celestial marriage”). There are so many major problems with the practice and the history/promotion by the LDS church, that I can't even scratch the surface here on this posting. But please check around this webpage and you will find out everything you need to know about multiple wives.

I was born and raised in the LDS church until I left it at 26 years old and gave my heart to Jesus (the Jesus of the Bible, not the Jesus of Joseph Smith)
Since then I have been accused many, many times of being "Judgmental", "Intolerant", "Bigoted", and of course "Apostate" (not to mention a "Liar" a "Devil" "the seed of Satan" "Fool" “Idiot” “Stupid”… and many other names that I prefer not to post here… and that was just from my Mormon family and friends).

While the Bible says; “Judge not, lest ye be judged” (probably the only verse in the Bible that even the Atheists know by heart)… It also says that we are to “contend for the faith” (as Michelle stated in her post). I cannot Judge anyone because I first have to take the plank out of my eye, before I tell my brother about the speck in his eye. I know that Jesus is God, so He has the authority to Judge… All throughout His 3 year ministry, that was a lot of what He did. He called out the false teachers and “religious” people of His day. He told them that they were hypocrites and white-washed tombs. Then when He wasn’t calling them out, He was telling Parables that ticked them off because they knew He was talking about them as the ones that would be “gnashing their teeth”. We are commanded to "follow Him"... the student emulating the Master.

I cannot judge an unbeliever, but I can be a “fruit inspector” to the body of Christ (and to anyone that is leading the body of Christ astray). Just like the Bereans, I test everything that is put forth. For years and years I sat blindly by and listened to what the Mormon prophet and general authorities had to say about the religion of Mormonism. I was raised to believe it, and it was all I had ever known. It wasn’t until I was challenged about the unbiblical practices and invited to a Christian church, that I was compelled by the Holy Spirit to seek out the Truth and investigate the claims by the “supposed Christians”. (you can read my short testimony under the tab “Ex-Mormon Testimonies” at the top of this page).

I am really glad you visited the site and I would like to leave you with these quotes from founding Mormon hierarchy and more recent “authorities”; (not saying that we can judge, because they do, just sayin that we are only providing a rebuttal to their accusations)

In the LDS scripture, Pearl of Great Price, Joseph Smith-History 1:5-19, we learn that after God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to young Joseph Smith, Joseph asked God what church he should join. Joseph relates God's response in verse 19:
I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.”

“all other churches are entirely destitute of all authority from God; and any person who receives Baptism or the Lord’s supper from their hands will highly offend God. Both Catholics and Protestants are nothing less than the “whore of Babylon” whom the Lord denounces”. (The Seer, Orson Pratt – Page 255).

“The various organizations which are called churches throughout Christendom though differing in their creeds and organizations, have one common origin. They all belong to Babylon. God is not the founder of them”.
(Gospel Truth – Page 324).

“There is no salvation outside of this one true Church, the Church of Jesus Christ”. (Mormon Doctrine – Page 138).

“And virtually all the millions of apostate Christendom have abased themselves before the mythical throne of a mythical Christ whom they vainly suppose to be a spirit essence who is incorporeal, uncreated, immaterial, and three-in-one with the Father and Holy Spirit”. (Mormon Doctrine, Bruce R. McConkie – Page 269).

“In large part the worship of apostate Christendom is performed in ignorance, as much so as was the worship of the Athenians who bowed before the Unknown God”. (Mormon Doctrine, Bruce R. McConkie – Pages 374-375).

“the Prophet wrote: From sundry revelations which have been received, it was apparent that many important points touching the salvation of man had been taken from the Bible, or lost before it was compiled”. (Mormon Doctrine, Bruce R. McConkie – Page 348).

“the Deity of the sectarian Christians is an Unknown God, who does not appear to men, though in some vague way he is supposed to have done so anciently… apostate Christendom says-officially and formally in the accepted and approved creeds-that God is immaterial, uncreated, and incomprehensible”. (Mormon Doctrine, Bruce R. McConkie – Page 815).

“Divisions and dissension, contention, confusion, and discord – these are among the prevailing characteristics of the sects of Christendom. These various sects of denominations – all holding to their particular creeds and practices – will never unite, except on one point: all will join hands to fight the truth and stand in opposition to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints”. (Joseph Smith, 2:20-25, as quoted from Mormon Doctrine – Page 699)

God Bless you...

Marvelous examples! Yes,false doctrines arise like that. The cults read into these verses things that aren't said at all. This leaves their followers confused and thinking that they themselves are dumb; that they themselves just don't get it. The followers usually don't question of others for fear of embarrassment or even reprisals things that they don't understand.
"Surely, they are prophets and know what they are talking about".
Not so. They are human manipulators not of God but of Satan; they win over followers by the power of confusion ( an old trick).
