   god bless al gore for inventing the internet..know we can find all the info the church has kept hidden for many years…i have taken the sack off my head..its interesting god doesnt seam to communicate with the ptofit any more.he should have told him that the city creek center was going to cost a lot more money than they had figured from 2million to 4 million.and gays are born that way..MO NO MO

   Too funny – yes, where would we all be without Al Gore…hmm…

   I’ve often wondered if people like my mother ever stop to think about things like the cost in the City Creek Center and the supposed prophecies of the guys who run her life…why don’t they invest in heavenly matters like rebuilding Haiti and not expecting anything in return? Maybe they’re too poor or dark or both?

       Brian, thanks for being a voice of reason in this madhouse. This is one of the saddest websites i’ve ever been too. Just imagine, people dedicating their whole life to preaching against others? All of these postings are just crazy! I mean – the saddest part is that they are so mingled with truths about our church, just enough to persuade happenstance visitors to this site that the author actually knows what she is talking about – when she is so dead-wrong on so many points!! They are not describing the church that I love and hold dear. They are like all the rest who make us out to be these “cult-members” that are brain-washed into following some crazy religion. I can’t imagine living my life with such a drive to derail people from their own faith.
       And yet, in all this – they unfailingly convince themselves that they are right with the trademark arrogance of today’s “Christians.” Why would anyone want to persuade a “Mormon” away from their own faith? We are a delightsome, righteous and wholesome people. Maybe the author of this website should take some time to devote to other pagan religions – like Buddhism or Islam. Religions that don’t believe in Jesus Christ at all! This blind intolerance and religious bigotry so dominant in the Christian world today makes me PROUD to be a member of the LDS church where we believe in tolerance and understanding. That people have the right to follow the dictates of their own conscience and worship how when or what they may, and we expect the same right from others. Apparently, around here that’s too much to ask. I hope I NEVER accidentally come across this site again while searching for the link to the Ford Motor Company’s Interfaith Website!

       Dear LDS and proud,

       I hope you don’t think that anything written here is an attack on the Mormon people. I would hope the comments made here are by people who love and care for their Mormon friends and neighbors. That is truly the case for me as my LDS friends and neighbors are kind and compassionate people and I love them dearly.

       The questions and issues raised here are about the distinct differences between Biblical Christianity and LDS doctrine, and the effects of those doctrines on our eternal life with God.

       Specifically, Biblical Christians rely on the work of Christ in order to have eternal life with God:

       “But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.” Rom 4:5

       while LDS doctrine states that it is man’s work that merits eternal life:

       “We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.”

       That difference has eternal ramifications, and for those of us who have love people who are in the LDS church, we feel an urgent desire to have them rely on Christ for their eternal life rather than themselves.

       For aren’t we rejecting Christ if we rely on our own ability to repent of our sins instead of accepting the forgiveness of sin offered through Christ’s death on the cross?

       “”For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21″

       Amen sister!

       The main reason I went into ministry is because I was (and still am) convinced the Mormon people love Jesus in their hearts just as I did when I was a Mormon for 30 years.
       This kind of “work” is not anything I would’ve pictured myself doing in life. I wanted to be a stay at home mom and finish the year I had left to get my teaching certificate and degree. I majored in World War History. This is far from the battlefields of the European theatre! Ha!
       Every time I look in the eyes of my family I see who I was 19 years ago. I see the desire to be close to Jesus as I kept using His name and I desperately wanted to know the peace that eluded me as a Mormon. My heart grieves deeply for not only my family but all those caught in the snares of the evil one.

       the lds church haul the stuff they cant sell from deseret industrys and old food from there food wearhouses to the devaststed areas to get there names in the news..but its the salvation army and the catholic church that feeds the poor and the hungry in utah cause it cost money and the lds is in to makeing it no not giving it..god kept the mormon out of the white house

   Please pray that all Mormon influences on my daughter will be thwarted. She is believer and wants to win them to the Lord, but she is trying to do it on her own. She recognizes, to some extent, that they are working hard on her, too, but they have become her friends, and she trusts them.

   it is sure interesting how smart god has gotten in the last 180 years.he gave joesph smith the word of wisdom,,no coffee or tea..know we find out the tea has more anti oxidents that are good for you and coffee will keep you from having alsimers..or do you think joe didnt want people to buy them and just give the money to the church, er i should say the CULT

     sir you hit the nail on the head.i was a bishop for 5 years and in yhat time i had ocassion to do a lot of studying the early true history and i found out the church keeps the true history covered up.joe had 8 diferent storys about his first vision..it just goes on from there brigham young had members killed if they disagreed with him..the lds church is about raisind money for the profit and the apposeles..get out its false

   i was a member for 58 years when i found out it was all a lye.i read a article about david o mckay sending men to south america and mexico to find evidence the book of morman was true.they spent 10 years and 100.000 dollars and found nothing at all to back up the book of morman

    Ya know, I once loved the LDS church and held it dear as well, then the Holy Spirit revealed: Ephesians 2: 8 and 9 to me at the first non-LDS church service I had ever been to in my life. (I wasn’t allowed to attend any of the apostate Christian churches while growing up and was actually scared that I might lose my place in the Celestial Kingdom if I ever attended one or read anything about God not written by an LDS author…. sounds like a Mind-Control Cult to me…)

    … and on that note you mentioned, “the trademark arrogance of today’s “Christians.””

    You are so far from understanding that this ministry is not about arrogance, hate, or trying to defame the LDS members.
    It is first and foremost about LOVE and the abundant Life one can only find in the arms of Jesus (as described in the Bible)

    Also, it is about answering the “Arrogance of Joseph Smith” and other leaders of the LDS church when they say that “all Christian denominations are apostate”. That the devil is their god. That Catholics and Protetants are nothing less than the whore of Babylon. That our baptism and Lord’s Supper have no authority and it highly offends God when we practice them.

    But what really offends me is the un-apologetic racism and pedophile-ism that permeated, not only the founder of the LDS church, but every member of the church deep into the 20th Century.

    What you don’t understand is that this ministry is preaching Christ and Him crucified… Other world religions (you mentioned Hindu and Islam) get the same core message from the posters of this blog… Jesus is the only way!

    No religion, organization, prophet, pastor, system of worship, guru, sacrafices, church attendance, tithing, rituals, ordinances, repeated prayers, etc. can EVER make you more right with God. We are His righteousness through the blood of Christ…

    Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe.
    Sin had left a crimson stain,

      But does not every Church have a history that they can be ashamed of? Catholic, protestants, born again christians, Jews,hasn’t everyone especially today struggled with faith? I pray to God, be he or she, jesus, or jehovah, Mary Magdelene…I believe in the love of God. His works are a mystery to me… I believe God created us all and only he can judge! I was LDS…I have tried to follow the teachings of Jesus…but deep down my faith and belief is in the Love of Almighty God. If Jesus is real I pray for his eternal Love…if he is not…than my faith is for a true God who is our Father and the Father Jesus prayed to every day of his life. God bless you all. More people have fought and died over the belief of Jesus than any other religion!Stan.

        Stan – we will be praying that you surrender your heart to Jesus and make Him the Lord of your life. “He who has the Son, has eternal life” 1 John 5:11

        True, many have died over the belief of Jesus… that just tells me that Satan is at work 24/7 to destroy all those that would put their trust in Him. Some certain people in the past have used Christianity to further their own sick and twisted agenda. Jesus told us be Salt and Light unto the world. He never told us to go out in miltary fashion and force people to follow His Word. He never wanted Catholics and Protestants in Ireland to fight and kill each other over whose church was better or more true.

        The body of believers make up His “church” (ones called out to assemble). There isn’t one denomination or sect that has “the most perfect way” to Heaven. “Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart… and you will be saved”. Church attendance, rituals, ordinances, special prayers, tithing, etc. can never save you. “Love God and love your neighbor as yourself” So simple, a child can do it…

        and I am kinda shootin from the hip here but, more people have been killed because of (or under) Godless regimes and dictators than ever have been killed due to Christianity. 20-30 Million killed under Stalin and Hitler. Genocide in Africa to this day. Pol-Pot, Mao Tse Tung, etc…. and even more alarming is that over 53 Million babies have been killed in their mother’s wombs since Roe v.     The Christan faith is very simple: Law and Gospel
    1. The LAW (Ten Comandments) acts as a curb and mirror. It shows our sin; it curbs our behavior. We feel sad and lost.
    2. The GOSPEL (Good News) tells us that while we were still sinners,Christ died for us. It tells us we are free and that we will not die for our sins. It tells us that there is nothing we can earn or buy. We have no part in our Salvation.

    What does one do? Read the Bible, confess to God that you are a sinner, ask Him to come into your life. You’ll begin a personal relationship with Jesus as you read God’s word. The Holy Spirit brings you to faith, helps you to understand His Word, and guides you through your life ahead.

    Jesus said,”I am the Way, the Truth and the . No one comes to the Father except by me”

    Our response to this Free Gift? We can rejoice that we are saved from death and hell and we thank Him for showing our need in His Word.

    The result:
    We do good works for others in faith, tell others of God’s great love for us in Christ Jesus, and that this is Free.

    God does not promise that nothing bad will happen in our lives but he promises to be with us every step of the way.

    Matthew 11:28-29
    “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

    He kept his promise and sent His Son to show us how to live, die for us, suffer and pay the price as a Sacrifice on the Cross, and rose from the dead. Each and every person needs to read the Word and confess Jesus on their own.

    Mormons are just like everyone else as they, too, need to do all of the above. But they are worshipping a different god. God of the Bible is NOT the God of The BOM; they are compared as an apple an orange.
    Jesus said:

    Matthew 24:11
    “And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.”

    Matthew 24:23
    “Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.”

    The answer? Switch books and read the Bible in its entirety and nothing else. God will see your heart, and if you are sincere, will open your eyes with the help of the Holy Spirit.

    As for me?
    I’m just God’s tool; I don’t feel the need for long arguments to defend Christianity; I share the Word and let God do the rest. Then I pray and ask God to work His will in your life.

      Yeah I’ve always told my kids and volunteers when I train for witnessing tips that Jesus is a big boy and can take care of Himself. We’re here to share His truth and the Holy Spirit does the convicting/convincing, not us. To believe otherwise is to think you have power that you don’t. I’ve found that when I allow Him to work in their lives my life is peaceful.
