The Predicament of Mormon “Revelations”
D&C and Church History Seminary Teaching Resource Manual, pg 7; “In order to become like God, we must have a resurrected, glorified physical body and we must grow to possess the attributes of godhood (see Alma 11:43–44; Job 19:26; 3 Nephi 27:27; D&C 130:22).”
Journal of Discourses 9:138; “The Father frequently came to visit his son Adam, and talked and walked with him; and the children of Adam were more or less acquainted with their Grandfather, and their children were more or less acquainted with their Great-Grandfather; and the things that pertain to God and to heaven were as familiar among mankind…” – Brigham Young, Salt Lake City, January 12, 1862
2 Thess. 2:1-4; “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”

Adam was a Travelin’ Man
Doctrines of Salvation 3:74; “GARDEN OF EDEN AND CITY ZION SAME PLACE. In accord with the revelations given to the Prophet Joseph Smith, we teach that the Garden of Eden was on the American continent located where the City Zion, or the New Jerusalem, will be built. When Adam and Eve were driven out of the Garden, they eventually dwelt at a place called Adam-ondi-Ahman, situated in what is now Daviess County, Missouri.”

Garden of Eden
How could the Garden of Eden be in Missouri when the Pearl of Great Price declares it was in the vicinity of Assyria with the Euphrates and Hiddekel Rivers running through it?

Noah/Gabriel
“To play his part in the great restoration of all things, Gabriel came in modern times and conferred the keys of his dispensation upon Joseph Smith. As with other angelic ministrants to this earth, Gabriel also spent his mortal probation here. He is Noah, the one who stands next to Michael or Adam in the priesthood hierarchy. (Teachings, p. 157.)” Mormon Doctrine, 301.

July 23 – Exodus 20:3-17; “Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.”

May 16 – Gen. 1:17-9; “And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorn also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken; for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”

Ancient of Days; Jesus or Adam?
Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pg. 167; “Commencing with Adam, who was the first man, who is spoken of in Daniel as being the “Ancient of Days,” or in other words, the first and oldest of all, the great, grand progenitor of whom it is said in another place he is Michael, because he was the first and father of all.”

_____
God has told us throughout scripture that man’s heart is deceitful and desperately wicked, so even though that little toddler in the house looks really cute, beware because behind the cuteness, lies a wealth of selfishness! They want you to themselves and in their minds they are the only one who is worthy of the blocks and dolls in the toy box. Just imagine how convoluted our hearts become with age. This is why it’s so important to always follow God by studying His word and have our minds upon Him.

March 13 – Gen. 3:24; “So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubim’s, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life”.
_____
Next to John 3:16, the Genesis scripture should be at the forefront of every believer’s mind. Man was separated from God, thus the need for John 3:16. It was not God’s intention for this to happen. He knew it would happen, but it doesn’t mean that He willed it to happen. The Mormon believes man had to sin in order to know joy, sadness and to even procreate. They believe this sin commandment came from God.

March 9 – Romans 5:19; “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous”.
_____
We have been born into sin (John 9:34) and have need for a Savior who can cleanse us from ourselves! The Mormons do not believe they have been born under the sin of Adam, (2nd Article of Faith: “We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression”.). They say that man has their own free will to sin or not, yet their own scripture would deny this claim.

The Mormon’s belief that sin was necessary to have seed mimics the teachings of witchcraft. Wiccans believe that in order for us to know good, we must experience evil as well. This is contradictory to the Bible.
_____
Moses 5:11 says; “And Eve, his wife, heard all these things and was glad, saying: Were it not for our transgression we never should have had seed, and never should have known good and evil, and the joy of our redemption, and the eternal life which God giveth unto all the obedient.”

November 12 – Genesis 3:17; “And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life.”

The doctrine of God is that Jesus is God incarnate and we should obey Him, there are no hidden agendas with God and no hidden meanings. If you love Him, obey Him. Because of the fall, the ground became cursed and worse yet there came a separation of God and man. They were kicked out of the Garden and an enmity was placed between God and us. The Mormons would have you believe that this was a glorious event. Nothing could be further from the truth! What kind of God would allow sin to be part of His plan if heaven is perfect?
_____
“The doctrine of Adam is the doctrine of Eve; their mission and purpose are one. “As she was at Michael’s side before the foundations of the earth,” wrote Elder Bruce R. McConkie, “so she came with him into Eden.” Together they performed the mission of the Fall, making the probation of life available to all. Chosen as the first wife and the first mother, her role in the salvation of their posterity is as vital as his. She is Adam’s counterpart and his crown. She is our glorious mother. With Adam she was set at the head to mark the way.” Joseph Fielding McConkie and Robert L. Millet, eds., The Man Adam [Salt Lake City: Bookcraft, 1990], 85 – 88.
