August 20 – Exodus 6:4, 6; “And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers. Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments…”

Does God Change?
Today we’re looking at another contradiction in Mormonism. This contradiction is between Moroni 8:18, Doctrine and Covenants 20:17, and Teachings of the Presidents of the Church: Brigham Young (Chapter 4, page 29). These read as follows:
Moroni 8:18; “For I know that God is not a partial God, neither a changeable being; but he is unchangeable from all eternity to all eternity.”
Doctrine and Covenants 20:17; “By these things we know that there is a God in heaven, who is infinite and eternal, from everlasting to everlasting the same unchangeable God, the framer of heaven and earth, and all things which are in them.”

April 15 – Heb. 13:8-9; “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Be not carried away by strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.”

March 15 – Is. 40:8; “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever”.

Word study time! Eternal and forever are the key words for today. Look them up in a dictionary, concordance and lexicon and then share your new found knowledge with the Mormon. Be sure to use some of your favorite verses from the Bible that contain these words. Don’t forget to explain why the verses you share are your favorites. What did God reveal to you through these things?

2 Nephi 9:16; “And assuredly, as the Lord liveth, for the Lord God hath spoken it, and it is his eternal word which cannot pass away”.

February 7 – Jesus promised us that the Spirit would be in us. John 14:17 says; “Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you”.
_____
From this scripture and the following six verses we can see and know that the Holy Spirit is our “resident teacher”. He isn’t something that only appears when we’re on our best behavior but He makes His abode with us. The transliteration of abode means to tarry.
_____
“The gift of the Holy Ghost is the right to have the constant companionship of the Spirit; the actual enjoyment of the gift, the actual receipt of the companionship of the Spirit, is based on personal righteousness; it does not come unless and until the person is worthy to receive it.” Mormon Doctrine, pg. 313.

How much more powerful can the message of the Trinity and our salvation be given?

Joseph Smith said this of the Trinity: “All are to be crammed into one God, according to sectarianism. It would make the biggest God in all the world. He would be a wonderfully big God—he would be a giant or a monster”. Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pg. 372.
