Jude 1:3-4; “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. 4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Journal of Discourses 3:41; “Though Mahometan institutions are corrupt enough, and need reforming by the Parley Pratt2Gospel, I am inclined to think, upon the whole, leaving out the corruptions of men in high places among them, that they have better morals and better institutions than many Christian nations; and in many localities there have been high standards of morals. So far as that one point is concerned, of worshipping the one true God under the name of Mahometanism, together with many moral precepts, and in war only acting on the defensive, I think they have exceeded in righteousness and truthfulness of religion, the idolatrous and corrupt church that has borne the name of Christianity.” – Parley P. Pratt, Great Salt Lake City, September 23, 1855

general-conference-april-2012-948369-galleryThe LDS Church has listed the talk summaries of their upcoming General Conference, so we’re looking at what Mr. Dieter Uchtdorf had to share. His entire speech can be viewed at the link for the video presentation at the end of this article.

General Conference, ‘Fourth Floor, Last Door,’ October 2016;

The purpose of faith is not to change God’s will but to empower us to act on God’s will. Faith is trust—trust that God sees what we cannot and that He knows what we do not. Sometimes, trusting our own vision and judgment is not enough. …

In light of that statement, we have a question for Mr. Uctdorf.

Philippians 4:4; “Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.”

A speech given by Richard G. Scott way back in 2001,  was, and still is, a sad depiction of the Mormon’s everyday life. Ignoring Paul’s reminder to rejoice in all things, they’ve chosen to take another path and listen to lies.

richard-g-scottGeneral Conference, ‘First Things First,’ April 2001; “Don’t become overanxious. Do the best you can. We cannot say whether that blessing will be obtained on this side of the veil or beyond it, but the Lord will keep His promises. In His infinite wisdom, He will make possible all you qualify in worthiness to receive. Do not be discouraged. Living a pattern of life as close as possible to the ideal will provide much happiness, great satisfaction, and impressive growth while here on earth regardless of your current life circumstances…

N Eldon TannerConference Report, ‘No Greater Honor: The Woman’s Role,’ October 7, 1973; “We must never forget that one of woman’s greatest privileges, blessings, and opportunities is to be a co-partner with God in bringing his spirit children into the world.  With this honor comes the tremendous responsibility of loving and caring for those children so they might learn their duty as citizens and what they must do to return to their Heavenly Father.” – N. Witnessing Tip of the Day June 01June 6 –  Works of God’s Holy Spirit. Romans 8:26-27; “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”

Mormon Decisions 10

Today we’re examining the last segment of George Q. Cannon’s talk on the rejection of the Christian God and the anti-Christian remarks he made.

Journal of Discourses 24:185 – 186; “I want a God of that kind if I can find Him, and I thank God that I have found Him, and that He has revealed Himself in these last days, and has established His Church as He did in ancient days, and has endowed it with the same powers that the ancient church possessed, and it has to undergo the same trials and temptations and the same persecution that the ancient church did.”
