Lies and Confusion in the Book of Mormon
2 Nephi 25:5-8;
“5 Yea, and my soul delighteth in the words of Isaiah, for I came out from Jerusalem, and mine eyes hath beheld the things of the Jews, and I know that the Jews do understand the things of the prophets, and there is none other people that understand the things which were spoken unto the Jews like unto them, save it be that they are taught after the manner of the things of the Jews.”

Jesus and Joseph Smith Related?
“Jesus Was Married”, pg. 94, by Ogden Kraut; “Since Joseph Smith did hold the keys of the kingdom in the last days, (D&C 65:2, 115:19) and was the “Rod” from the loins of the Stem of Jesse, he would have the blood of Abraham, Jesse, and the Savior, according to the testimony of scripture and revelation. It would be evident that Joseph Smith should also know these facts. The Prophet did understand them—and more—but he was reluctant to tell them because of the traditions and ideologies of modern Christianity.”

Joseph Smith Bears Infirmities of Others
Discourses of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pg. 28; “Although I was called of my Heavenly Father to lay the foundation of this great work and kingdom in this dispensation, and testify of his revealed will to scattered Israel, I am subject to like passions as other men, like the prophets of olden times.Notwithstanding my weaknesses, I am under the necessity of bearing the infirmities of others, who when they get into difficulty, hang on to me tenaciously to get them out, and wish me to cover their faults. January 22 – Everlasting burnings. What is it? Who goes to everlasting burnings and why? Isaiah 33:12, 14. “And the people shall be as the burnings of lime…the sinners in Zion are afraid; fearlfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?”

As a Christian I can find refuge by knowing where I’ll be after this earthly life. There is no confusion in my mind about the meaning of everlasting burnings for me any longer.

Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith pg. 346; “Here, then, is eternal life-to know the only wise and true God; and you have got to learn how to be Gods yourselves…from exaltation to exaltation, until you attain to the resurrection of the dead, and are able to dwell in everlasting burnings…”

January 13 – We are warned by Jesus in Matthew 7:15; “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves”.

The scriptures are replete with warnings about the evil one and how to decipher who he really is. Other testaments, false Christs, dangerous prophets and familiar spirits are all signs of Satan. We are to stay away at all times and guard ourselves against him. Read Isaiah 29:3 to see God’s warning to us about familiar spirits.

2 Nephi 26:16; “For those who shall be destroyed shall speak unto them out of the ground, and their speech shall be low out of the dust, and their voice shall be as one that hath a familiar spirit; for the Lord God will give unto him power, that he may whisper concerning them, even as it were out of the ground; and their speech shall whisper out of the dust.”
