They Fell to the Earth
3 Nephi 1:17; “And they began to know that the Son of God must shortly appear; yea, in fine, all the people upon the face of the whole earth from the west to the east, both in the land north and in the land south, were so exceedingly astonished that they fell to the earth.”
Proverbs 12:17; “He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.”
“Whoever speaks the truth gives honest evidence, but a false witness utters deceit.” – ESV
A couple of weeks ago we published another set of verses from the Book of Mormon where this phenomenon took place. Don’t worry; we’re not recycling our posts! This actually takes place several times in the Book of Mormon.
The reason I gave the English Standard Version is because of how it flows for this situation.
What evidence does the Book of Mormon have that every single person fell to the earth at the same time when they thought a sign from God was given? Are there external evidences of this phenomenon? The answer of course is no, there is not.
Therefore, why would you believe such a tale? Given this is a lie is it feasible to rely upon and trust any of the claims therein? Again, I would say no, we should not rely upon or trust anything they say or claim.
