Garden of Eden
Encyclopedia of Joseph Smith’s Teachings, pg. 277; “Words of Wilford Woodruff: President Young said, “Joseph the Prophet told me that the Garden of Eden was in Jackson Co., Missouri.” (Wilford Woodruff, Wilford Woodruff’s Journal, 1833-1898, 9 vols. 7:129; standardized). Footnote #2 – Report by Wilford Woodruff of a conversation in the Church historian’s office, 30 March 1873.”
First of all no one can prove where the Garden of Eden was located because there have been no archaeological findings so far.
Secondly because Christians believe the Bible to be the absolute word of God we can trust the Lord when He said the Garden of Eden was located somewhere near the four rivers mentioned in Genesis 2:10-14. However, as mentioned before, the ravages from the flood in Noah’s time make it virtually impossible to know an exact location.
This would mean Independence, Missouri had nothing to do with the Garden of Eden. Chalk Smith’s lies up to leading more people away from God with another fairytale.
