Thought of the Day about Mormonism and Mormon Converts
This is a re-post and clarification of original article posted yesterday (Oct. 4, 2012)
Tonight while searching the net for a project I’m working on, I came across one of the most disturbing things I’ve seen in a long time.
While the Mormons are out touting the story that they’re just like everybody else here’s what they’re saying behind your backs as Christians.
Welcome to Mormonism my friend.
The site we’ve highlighted today is a Mormon conversion site of stories from people who’ve left other denominations and why. On the far left column they actually designate the stories into groups of each denomination from Anglican, Baptist, Lutheran, etc.

Here is what they have to say in their “About this site” category:
“This MormonConverts.com site was created to become an online resource of Mormon conversion stories with Christian faith promoting experiences.
In a day when many are searching for eternal truths; desiring to find peace and happiness in a world filled with hate, war, poverty and seeming injustice, this site will offer hope and an opportunity to find peace.
We invite you to share your story of conversion to the Mormon Church or join our community of Christians who desire to know the truths that bring eternal happiness.”
I don’t know of any Christian denomination that goes around converting other Christians to their denomination. If you’re a Christian you already belong to the Kingdom of God and you’re already a member of the body of Christ. If someone’s trying to convert you from that wouldn’t it mean they’re taking you away from what you already have?
When I saw this site I immediately felt my heart plummet to my toes.
Warning to my brothers and sisters in Christ;
Watch your back for the wolves are out!
With Love in Christ;
Michelle

Update: I received a post/comment about this original post of mine. Originally this post said “I don’t know of any other Christian denomination that goes around converting other Christians…”
I have since removed the word “other”. In no way do I want to come across as a hypocrite or that I believe Mormonism is a Christian denomination. Thanks for the feedback!
Reblogged this on Compendium of Christian Blogs and commented:
Interesting that they even have the denominations.
Thanks for re-blogging this! It’s disturbing to say the least. I guess I won’t ever understand what the allure is to lie and then think it’s not. Kind of like the e-mails I receive. These people just don’t understand that if their leaders lie it’s NOT okay but somehow they keep putting their heads in the sand and call things something other than what it is.
We just need to keep praying!
Michelle
Isn’t that what your site is doing? By your own statement in this post, Latter-day Saints are Christians. (This contradicts other posts, but hey, whatever.) You try to convert them away from the LDS church. Now, you are complaining about Latter-day Saints converting other Christians. Can you stop the hypocrisy?
You know I shouldn’t have said “I don’t know of any other Christian denomination…”
What I meant and should have said is; “I don’t know of any Christian denomination…”
Hypocrisy? No. Accidentally putting a word in a sentence that I shouldn’t have, yeah okay.
