Spirit of Truth
“To Acquire Spiritual Guidance,” Ensign, Nov. 2009, 6-7; “I am convinced that there is no simple formula or technique that would immediately allow you to master the ability to be guided by the voice of the Spirit. Our Father expects you to learn how to obtain that divine help by exercising faith in Him and His Holy Son, Jesus Christ. Were you to receive inspired guidance just for the asking, you would become weak and ever more dependent on Them. They know that essential personal growth will come as you struggle to learn how to be led by the Spirit.” – Richard G. Scott
John 14:23, 26; “Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
John 16:13; “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
This man’s words sent chills up my spine. He is one scary dude with the lies that so easily fall from his lips. It’s as if Satan himself was talking through him.
Why would is it bad to be dependent upon God?
Just imagine a parent telling a child they can’t ask for help because they should be self-sufficient from the time they’re brought into the family…what kind of mom or dad would they be? Likewise, God would NEVER do that to His children. Jesus promised the Holy Spirit would come and never leave us.
Why would God kick us to the curb after we’ve made a commitment to Him?
Furthermore, Jesus told us to cast our cares upon Him and take His yoke because it is light. Why is the LDS Church preaching that life is a struggle while at the same time telling adherents the plan of salvation is to be happy?
With mixed messages and lies like this where do you go for truth? Jesus of course!
Lots of wishful thinking by enemies of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints…! We have gone from 10,000,000 in 2000 to 14,500,000 now. Gee, I wonder why…? The truth–maybe…?
Harlan –
Sadly it’s not because of truth. Jesus said many will say in that day but Lord didn’t I…and He will tell them I never knew you.
Many are called but few are chosen Harlan and Jesus isn’t a numbers guy as if He’s collecting properties around a Monopoly game. He wants those who believe truth, teach truth and trust Him exclusively.
If He needed one single denomination w/ all the rules and regulations then why did He die; why didn’t He enact such a system while still living and most importantly where’s the proof the system He initially set up failed as Joseph Smith claimed?

Another reason why the LDS may have grown (the LDS figures include people no longer going, too), is that people will initially follow the Mormon doctrine until they find out it is all a lie. They leave but their names stay on the rolls.
(See the sidebar or search for previous discussions on this.)
The LDS spends millions of dollars. On public relations to try and “prove” that Smith was right, etc. they even make the people “testify” in their churches of him.
No one questions where the money goes; no one questions any doctrine or inconsistancies. Try asking things in their churches and you run in to big trouble. If you are in this position now, and need help, email us.
