Joseph Smith, the Chosen One
“Come: Hear the Voice of the Lord”, Ensign, December 1985; “Joseph Smith himself read in the book of James the famous words known to us all: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” (James 1:5.)
In describing his feelings at the time, he said: “Never did any passage of scripture come with more power to the heart of man than this did at this time to mine. It seemed to enter with great force into every feeling of my heart. I reflected on it again and again.” (JS—H 1:12.)
Then, because the hour had come for the ushering in of the dispensation of the fulness of times, and because he was the one chosen and foreordained from eternity to commence the work, the Great God and his Beloved Son, descending in eternal splendor from the courts of glory, manifested themselves to this guileless and believing youth.
But, be it remembered, the scripture was the guidepost leading to the receipt of the First Vision, a vision equalled by few in import and glory in all the history of the world.”

Proverbs 14:5; “A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.”
Joseph Smith:
Chosen One
Unequalled Vision
Foreordained from Eternity
God came down from heaven
Hear the voice of the Lord
Guileless
Who are you worshipping?
It’s not often when such words are used for Jesus in Mormonism and here they’ve spread a table of honorable attributes for a mere man who was a:
Lawbreaker
Covenant-breaker
Polygamist
Thief
Adulterer
Glass-looker
Scam artist
Liar
Mason
Not only did Smith lie to the unsuspecting, all other Mormons who keep his lies going are also guilty of the same. The man Joseph Smith is looked upon with awe and wonder in Mormonism and rare is the day when his name isn’t praised. The young man who said he went to the woods to pray made his living taking money and trust from people while knowing his actions weren’t sincere or godly.
Sadly people like my mother believe these lies of Joseph Smith and not know fantastic truths about Jesus in passages like Isaiah 53. There are 48 prophecies of Jesus in that one chapter and all were fulfilled. If you’re a Christian church why wouldn’t your people know these things?
If a child is taught that from birth, likeyou were, it takes an act of God to open that child’s eyes later as as teen or an adult. First questioning these things, the person then reads or hears the Word of God in the Bible, through a Christian friend, or another way that the Holy Spirit works in the Word.
BUT- not everyone who hears or read will come to belief in the Triune God. The Lord is patient, not willing that some be lost, until all the world hears about Him before He comes again.
We pray that the Lord will lead more people to question, read, and hear the Word of God in this new year of 2013. We pray for more workers in His kingdom here to spread the Word of God that He is the Triune God- Pastors, teachers, Christian Workers, and pepole like Michelle who post of the Truth vs. the lies of Mormomism.
Amen Sue!
You just described my life in your first paragraph (except the “questioning” part). I never questioned it and in fact was only curious as to how “those lost wannabe Christians” held church… I was so arrogant and judgemental arriving at that Christian church building and couldn’t believe they used instuments other than an organ or piano and they sung so many songs, I was like, “really, do they ever stop singing to “their” 3-headed god?”…
Then the Word of the Lord penetrated my heart… Praises and Thanksgivings to the Lord!!!
Yes, an “Act of God” in your life. The Word of God, not Smith, is how He speaks to us. There is no other way. If Smith was sent by God, God would have said so. Instead Jesus says,”Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and they will lead many astray.” ESV
Mark 13:5-7 (in Context) Mark 13 (Whole Chapter);Mark 13:6;Luke 21:8
While Smith didn’t claim to be the Christ, he said he was a prophet and sent by God. He did NOT come in Jesus’ name but in his own name. The Book of Mormon, etc.It is just an elaborate story added on to over the years.
Even Brigham Young stated that he had not read the Bible in many years. This is just how Satan works: he gets people away from the Word, removes Jesus, and changes and twists the real Word of God. People start believing that those changes ( lies) are the real Word.
The LDS has to keep people their for their businesses, etc. To deny Smith, Young, and their writings would certainly be the end of the LDS. Instead they spend millions of dollars ( and never issue financial statements to their members) trying to prove that Mormonism exists in history, etc. There is no proof.
By forcing people to tithe, follow their man-made rules, and earn their salvation, that is just how satan works. He has not changed since he tempted Eve in to sin. Get people to see that they can do it themselves and they fall right in.
The answer? Read and study the Bible alone. That there are Mormons who insist on blindly following the leaders, the telling themselves this is true, they are a product of unquestioning allegiance to satan. But again, not eveyone will come to faith through the reading of the scripture in the Bible. The Holy Spirit sees their hearts.
