Message from the Dust of the Earth
In my analysis I touched upon the time when the Israelites were practicing witchcraft and listening to spirits from the ground. God had been so patient at this time as He spoke through the prophet Isaiah to warn them of the impending doom coming in the form of the Assyrians. Yet just like the Mormons, they’d have none of it.
One of the issues God took up with the Israelites was their utter defiance by repeatedly going to mediums and spiritists who said they could give them messages from their dead relatives. This is known as prattling. In Isaiah 29 we read of an important time when God repeatedly reached out, but to no avail. Here’s what it says in Isaiah 29:1-5;
“Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David dwelt! add ye year to year; let them kill sacrifices. 2 Yet I will distress Ariel, and there shall be heaviness and sorrow: and it shall be unto me as Ariel. 3 And I will camp against thee round about, and will lay siege against thee with a mount, and I will raise forts against thee. 4 And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust, and thy voice shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust. 5 Moreover the multitude of thy strangers shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones shall be as chaff that passeth away: yea, it shall be at an instant suddenly.”
The Hebrew word for the term “familiar spirit” in verse four is oòb. It means a mumble or a hollow sound like from water in a bottle. The word whisper in Hebrew is tsaòphaph meaning to coo or chirp, chatter, peep, whisper.
This scenario is much like what’s going on here in the catacombs of Egypt. They too relied upon their dead ancestors to guide and protect them from beyond the grave. If our Lord who gives so much to us time and time again, year after year, why do the Mormons allow themselves to accept Smith’s “prophecies” from the same place the Israelites got their false teachings from?
Remember Smith said these things couldn’t be revealed at this time, but here we are with the true interpretations of expert Egyptologists. They all concur: these are from the Book of the Dead and the Breathing Permit of Hor.
In this section Smith had not only misinterpreted the hieratic writings he also placed them upside down. Your guess is just as good as ours why he did such a thing.
