Mormon Doctrine, pg 284-285; “Through it [the restoration] the creeds of Christendom were shattered to smithereens, and because of it the truth about those Beings whom it is life eternal to know began again to be taught among men (John 17:3).”
John 17:3; “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”
The truth about “those Beings”? Is this how we refer to our Lord? Where in this passage of John does it say Christianity would be shattered to smithereens? Keep in mind this is the Lord’s Prayer and Jesus was praying to the Father that those He had preached to, those who had become members in the Kingdom of God, would be one as He was one with the Father. What are the odds God wouldn’t honor His Son’s request?
The LDS Church obviously doesn’t follow or believe in the Jesus of the Bible. Nowhere does God ever tell us this would happen and on the contrary, every time you look in a mirror you as a believer can know Joseph Smith lied. If Christianity had been shattered to smithereens you certainly wouldn’t see a Christian in your reflection.
