Mormon Dilemma 656

Seagulls, Joseph, Brigham & Hyrum

Mosiah 12:36; “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing in heaven above, or things which are in the earth beneath.”

Exodus 20:4; “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything in heaven above, or things which are in the earth beneath.”

Why are there statues in Salt Lake City of seagulls, Joseph Smith and Brigham Young?

Moreover, why are there statues in Carthage, Illinois of Joseph and Hyrum?

Why are there engraved images of stars, moons and the sun on Nauvoo and Salt Lake Temples?

If you’re LDS do you understand or have you studied what the graven images mean on the outside walls of the Salt Lake or Nauvoo temples?
