Mormon Dilemma 685

Earth’s Spirit Cried Unto Enoch

Moses 7:48-49; “And it came to pass that Enoch looked upon the earth; and he heard a voice from the bowels thereof, saying: Wo, wo is me, the mother of men; I am pained, I am weary, because of the wickedness of my children. When shall I rest, and be cleansed from the filthiness which is gone forth out of me? When will my Creator sanctify me, that I may rest, and righteousness for a season abide upon my face? 49 And when Enoch heard the earth mourn, he wept, and cried unto the Lord, saying: O Lord, wilt thou not have compassion upon the earth? Wilt thou not bless the children of Noah?”

Romans 8:22; “For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.”

When Adam introduced sin into the world he also subjected God’s creation into the demoralizing position of it as well.

This verse in the Bible is a figurative expression that’s referring to the state of existence creation is in and not referring to any conversations creation (whether it be of animals or inanimate objects) has supposedly had with Enoch or anyone else for that matter.

Other verses in the Bible with similar expressions are: Hab. 2:11; Job 31:38…animals and nature don’t have souls.
