Christianity Receives Portion with Devil

The Elders Journal, Vol. 1, No. 4, pg 60; “…all the priests who adhere to the sectarian religions of the day with all their followers, without one exception, receive their portion with the devil and his angels.” – Joseph Smith

Philippians 1:6; “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

If God intended Smith’s estimation to come true then why did He supply the Apostle Paul and others with inspiration to encourage us and remind us how His Holy Spirit works and what He will continue to do?
