Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pg 354; “Intelligence is eternal and exists upon a self-existent principle. It is a spirit from age to age, and there is no creation about it. All the minds and spirits that God ever sent into the world are susceptible of enlargement.”
Jeremiah 1:5; “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”
In one way Smith is right. All minds that God has given man and that are in the world are susceptible to enlargement – it’s called encephalitis. It’s toxic and many times fatal – just like pride.
I honestly believe that Mormonism is a hodge-podge of all kinds of religions. It’s Buddhism, Hinduism, Catholicism, Islam, Atheism, Unitarian, Satanism and everything else you can think of all rolled up into one. Satan slapped a pretty new bow on an old lie and named it Mormonism.
The Greek philosopher Plato taught on the principle of the intelligence of man existing from eternity to eternity. He also taught that once man was born he forgot everything he knew in heaven so when he came here to earth he wasn’t really learning any new truth; he was just remembering what he’d known in heaven before he came here.
Wow! It’s like déjà-vu all over again eh? Good grief!
Wherein the Bible teaches us humility, sinners, not gods.
Oh amen, amen, amen. What a breath of fresh air to see the Father work in His church, not our church, but His. And what a relief it is for us (me) to know we are His.
To not know Him and where we stand (aka who we are) leaves us to our own devices and we come up with ideas like the example above – yikes! That’s scary!!!
