Testimonies of LDS
Ensign, May 1975, pg. 8; “To a Latter-day Saint, a testimony of the truthfulness of the restored gospel is the most precious possession he can have. It cannot be purchased. No one can give it to him. It can only be secured by prayer, by study, by faith, by repentance, by righteous living, and by listening to others bearing their testimonies, and through the manifestation of the Holy Ghost.” – O. Leslie Stone
1 Peter 3:15; “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.”
Be ready to give an answer for the hope that is in you.
How can you have your own testimony if you’re told what to say?
Why must one listen to other testimonies in order to have their own testimonies?
Isn’t that the other person’s testimony? We can praise God for answered prayers in other believer’s lives, but that isn’t our own testimony of what God did for us personally!
Why do I have to have a testimony about what Joseph Smith did?
My hope is in the Lord, not Joseph Smith!
Joseph Smith didn’t purchase my freedom. Joseph Smith didn’t secure my place in heaven and Joseph Smith didn’t pay for my sin.
Only Jesus fulfilled all those things!
