Journal of Discourses 7:337; “You may inquire of the intelligent of the world whether they can tell why the aborigines of this country are dark, loathsome, ignorant, and sunken into the depths of degradation… When the Lord has a people, he makes covenants with them and gives unto them promises: then, if they transgress his Law, change his ordinances, and break his covenants he has made with them, he will put a mark upon them, as in the case of the Lamanites and other portions of the house of Israel; but by-an-by they will become a white and delightsome people.” – Prophet Brigham Young, Salt Lake City, October 8, 1859
Jeremiah 32:40; “And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.”
The covenants that the Lord of the Bible made with his people are far different from the covenants made by the Mormon god.
The God of the Bible will never leave or desert His people. Jesus even reiterated this in John 14:16.
The other issue in this Mormon teaching/prophecy is how the god of Mormonism changes the skin color of people prompting others to discriminate against his “chosen” people. Why would any kind of benevolent god do such a thing?
If Brigham’s prophecy was true then why aren’t the Mormon people black today? They aren’t practicing polygamy and they allowed the blacks into the Church.
