Journal of Discourses 8:179; “Do you query why we give endowments to A., B., and C? It is to make devils of those who will deny the faith, for that is also necessary, as a host of devils will be needed. We also want Saints, angels, holy ones, and those that are exalted to the highest glory—we want them to inherit kingdoms that number millions on millions.” – Brigham Young, Salt Lake City, September 9, 1860
Philippians 4:8; “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
Ephesians 4:11-12; “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”
Is the goal of making “devils” out of people through the Mormon gospel and endowments part of God’s plan? If so, where does it say this in the Bible?
What about the teachings of the Apostle Paul? He told us the body of Christ is made up of different gifts that have been given to members and none of those gifts include becoming a “devil”.
Furthermore, we’re reminded, admonished and encouraged all through scripture to be holy so why would following the Mormon gospel produce something unholy?
