“Do We know what We Have”, General Conference, October 2013; “His atonement provides the way for us to progress on the path to our Heavenly home, through sacred priesthood ordinances and covenants.” – Carole M. Stephens, First Counselor in the Relief Society General Presidency
John 19:30; “When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.”
In answer to Ms. Stephens’ question “do we know what we have” I’d have to say no.
I don’t believe the Mormons realize just what Jesus has done.
And I don’t believe they realize how heretical it is to institute “priesthood ordinances” into their dogma.
If the last thing Jesus said on this earth when He was living here was “It is finished”, what did He mean? What was finished?
Was it just His coming to earth?
Was it the fulfillment of the Law?
Was His crucifixion finished?
Just what was finished?
And how did His atonement provide the way for mankind to work for salvation?
Where in the Bible does it say Jesus had to die so we could work?
How does this fit into the Law that God ordained?
