History of The Church 6:306 – 307; “When you climb up a ladder, you must begin at the bottom, and ascend step by step, until you arrive at the top; and so it is with the principles of the gospel—you must begin with the first, and go on until you learn all the principles of exaltation. But it will be a great while after you have passed through the veil before you will have learned them. It is not all to be comprehended in this world; it will be a great work to learn our salvation and exaltation even beyond the grave. I suppose I am not allowed to go into an investigation of anything that is not contained in the Bible. If I do, I think there are so many over-wise men here that they would cry “treason” and put me to death. So I will go to the old Bible and turn commentator today.” – Joseph Smith

Hebrews 9:27; “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment”.
Oh Mr. Smith your commentating expertise is really all that’s needed. Each time this guy opened his mouth trouble wasn’t far behind.
If Smith’s version of heaven is true then we’re in big trouble. Why would God have you live for Him here and then when you die you have to figure out how to really be saved?
This is a pyramid scheme gone bad – then again, do they ever work out for the good?
This passage in the History of the Church pretty much sums up all there is in Mormonism.
Works.
No assurance.
No rest.
If you’re a Christian, share John 13:23 with a Mormon today.
“Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.”
Ask them what this verse means to them and if they’d ever be so relaxed around Jesus that they’d do the same thing we see that John did in this passage.
