Journal of Discourses 23:343-344; “The God whom the “Christians” worship is a being of their own creation–if, indeed, there can be such a being as they describe him to be; they have formed certain notions concerning deity, and then they have formulated those notions into articles of faith or religion.” – Charles W. Penrose, Salt Lake City, January 14, 1883
Exodus 3:14; “And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.”
Question:
Was the event in Exodus just Moses’ ‘notion’ of God?
I fear for the Mormon people and especially my mother. I fear that she and they will hear Jesus’ judgment ‘I never knew you’ (Mt 7:21-23) and by then it’ll be too late. The Church’s M.O. has always been the same.
They tear the body of Christ down and separate their members by tricking them into believing all of Christianity is wrong and she’s the ‘whore of Babylon’ (1 Nephi 14:10). And yes, it reminds me of how an abusive spouse operates as well.
No one understands, no one is right but me, no one ‘gets it’, no one will love you like I do…
This is what prompted me to start asking questions. I always wondered…how is it that everyone in the entire world, throughout all of history no less, had been wrong except for one person; that being Joseph Smith.
What are the odds?
Interesting that they would say He is a being of our creation, when the god of Mormonism is by their own doctrine, a created being. Our God is eternal by His proclamation.
It truly is a personality cult – and it seems to me that many of the so-called leaders of the post modern church today have the same kind of influence. The Pope, Rick Warren. . . no different than Joseph Smith when you come right down to it.
Any effort to subvert the Gospel of Jesus Christ is anti-christ.
