Journal of Discourses 21:135; “We cannot, with the intelligence and light that God has given to us, say that the Bible is the only revelation of God to man.” – Orson Pratt, Salt Lake City, September 7, 1879
1 Samuel 15:23; “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.”
Here’s another of those verses that should stop a Mormon in his/her tracks, but to date God’s warnings seem to have no effect on their rebellious nature.
I don’t see your connection. Saying that God has not been silent, quiet, and uninvolved since the end of the bible is not rejecting Him. Maybe I misunderstood?
@moonseafish- The Word of God says in Galatians 1:6-9
I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
You see God didn’t need or ask Joseph Smith via angel or pebble to add to His Word. He had already given it and does not want it added to. He gave many warnings in the bible to give us a heads up that people would try.
