Ensign, ‘B. H. Roberts after Fifty Years: Still Witnessing for the Book of Mormon,’ December 1983; “Elder Roberts’s view of the Book of Mormon made him a particularly powerful advocate. He saw clearly that the Book of Mormon is a revelation of the being of God…” – Truman G. Madsen
Studies of the Book of Mormon, by B.H. Roberts, p. 251; “If from all that has gone before in Part 1, the view be taken that the Book of Mormon is merely of human origin… if it be assumed that he is the author of it, then it could be said there is much internal evidence in the book itself to sustain such a view.
“In the first place there is a certain lack of perspective in the things the book relates as history that points quite clearly to an underdeveloped mind as their origin. The narrative proceeds in characteristic disregard of conditions necessary to its reasonableness, as if it were a tale told by a child, with utter disregard for consistency.”
Proverbs 11:9; “An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.”
It’s unfortunate the Mormon hierarchy twisted the true meaning of knowledge and what it can do for them.
While the Church likes to push the idea knowledge saves, they obviously haven’t applied this standard to the meaning of truth. Instead, they knew the truth, lied to others, and rejected God all in one fell swoop. They knew with 100% certainty that Smith was the sole author of the Book of Mormon.
Truman Madsen was a BYU professor that many in Mormonism would rely upon for spiritual insight and answers they could give to any naysayer. He wrote numerous faith promoting books which the Church still heavily relies upon even today.
The problem? Madsen lied. Mr. Madsen wasn’t some random convert who was unaware of the many books written by BH Roberts. He was the grandson of Heber J. Grant, 7th prophet of Mormonism and knew full well what Roberts had said, yet he chose to lie anyway.
In turn, church historian BH Roberts was cut from the same cloth. While he exposed Joe Smith as the author for the Book of Mormon, he stayed true to his faith, refusing to denounce Smith or Mormonism.

Where is your moral integrity as a man, or as a father, not to mention as a Christian?
