General Conference, “The Eternal Blessings of Marriage,” April 3, 2011; “I have no power to describe the peace and serenity that come from the assurance that as I continue to live worthily, I will be able to be with my beloved Jeanene and our children forever because of that sacred ordinance performed with the proper priesthood authority in the house of the Lord. Our seven children are bound to us by the sacred ordinances of the temple…
Marriage provides an ideal setting for overcoming any tendency to be selfish or self-centered. I think one of the reasons that we are counseled to get married early in life is to avoid developing inappropriate character traits that are hard to change.” — Richard G. Scott
John 4:11; “The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?”
As Christians we all know from where the living water comes – and what a relief it is to our tired souls.
When the world around us is falling apart before our very eyes and our well of troublesome events is deep, Jesus provides eternal life, a renewed hope, and His everlasting peace. Like the apostle John, we can rest against Jesus’ bosom. John 13:23
This poor man hasn’t a clue what this is or he wouldn’t preach such things.
Ordinances don’t save – Jesus does. Acts 4:12, John 3:16, Hebrews 9:10-14
This man said ‘I think one of the reasons that we are counseled to get married early in life is to avoid developing inappropriate character traits…’
???
Following Jesus and being IN Him prevents that problem, not getting married early! The fruits of the Spirit are a manifestation of the inner workings of Him who develops our thoughts and minds into godly behavior. Galatians 5:22-24
Lastly, I encourage all Mormons to think about what this man said and ask yourself if this is logical.
He said that if he keeps the ordinances he’ll get to live with his family forever.
Question: What if they don’t keep the ordinances, then what?
One question I’ve asked before about Temple ordinances is – what and how were people saved by before Joseph Smith invented the ordinances?
Since Joseph Smith never set foot in the Utah temple, does that mean Joseph is not married to all his wives forever?
Does this mean Joseph Smith cannot become a god, with his own planet?
And if the founder of the religion cannot, how does this make the rest of the religion and its followers?
Since Joe Smith never participated in the temple rituals, what’s the difference between him and any Mormon who never gets a Temple Recommend?
