April 3 – Devoted Disciples in Missiology. Luke 18:31; “Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. 32 For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on.”

What is your motivation when witnessing to the unsaved world? Is it your ‘job’, or is your heart is broken as Jesus’ heart was broken? Devoted disciples have only one thing on the calendar. Doing His will. If it’s God’s will for you to be persecuted, we mustn’t linger in the places that welcome us, we must go where God wants for us to be. Being ‘valiant’ reveals a love for self exaltation, and this has no place in the life of a true missionary. Besides all that, if you’re not testifying of the true Jesus of the Bible, it doesn’t matter how valiant you are because it’s all for naught. (Also see Oswald Chambers’ ‘My Utmost for His Highest’ for September 23rd.)
Ask the Mormon missionary who they’re testifying of, and if they’re truly devoted disciples of Him!

“Come and See”; “Devoted disciples of Jesus Christ always have been and always will be valiant missionaries. A missionary is a follower of Christ who testifies of Him as the Redeemer and proclaims the truths of His gospel.” — David A. Bednar
