Conference Report, ‘No Greater Honor: The Woman’s Role,’ October 7, 1973; “We must never forget that one of woman’s greatest privileges, blessings, and opportunities is to be a co-partner with God in bringing his spirit children into the world. With this honor comes the tremendous responsibility of loving and caring for those children so they might learn their duty as citizens and what they must do to return to their Heavenly Father.” – N. Eldon Tanner
Titus 3:4-5; “But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.”
Mr. Tanner’s words are very sad. They’re sad not only for LDS women, but the men as well.
Who would want another human being to feel their greatest value, worth, and opportunity, is found in having sex?
Where in the Bible does it say these things?
1.No person is a ‘co-partner’ of God in anything, let alone having kids.
2.Children raised in any type of home can’t ‘return’ to a place they’ve never been.
3.God doesn’t need man’s help. God isn’t any greater when the population increases. He’s still the same, and much greater than any of us could ever imagine!
Psalm 96:4 “For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised: He is to be feared above all gods.”
Sick and twisted. How can anyone believe that?
Okay…this is attempt #2 at trying to respond. Good grief…I’m not a fan of computers!
As I already said but it didn’t post:
You know how it is…when you’re born into it and know nothing else outside those parameters, it’s not so difficult to understand how this happens. Yikes! In the middle of a 3rd pregnancy in 4 yrs I was sicker than a dog and it began dawning on me the type of god that would demand this wasn’t the god I wanted to worship. I was actually begging him to send me to hell if it meant I always had to be pregnant to be saved. Very dismal, and very sad.
