Isaiah 40:8 “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”
Moroni 1:4; “Wherefore, I write a few more things, contrary to that which I had supposed; for I had supposed not to have written any more; but I write a few more things, that perhaps they may be of worth unto my brethren, the Lamanites, in some future day, according to the will of the Lord.”
When Christians read something like the Mormon verse above they’ll immediately know there’s something very wrong. God tells us the Bible is trustworthy and should be used for study and discipline. Most importantly, it’s inspired of God!
2 Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”
In light of the Mormon verse above, and the charts we’ve included below, we have a few questions –
1.How could these be inspired of God when they’re filled with mistakes?
2.What is the average Mormon to make of these things? My mother is always at the forefront of my thoughts when it comes to this subject.
3.If Joe Smith made the mistake…
4.Who is it that decides what it should’ve said?
5.Are they inspired of God like the authors of the Bible were? If so…
6.Where is the proof?
7.How did this happen?
8. Why were there errors in the text when Smith promised it was the most correct book on earth?
