Smith’s Opposing Polygamy Prophecies

James 2:10; “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point,  he is guilty of all.”

One Wife!

Doctrine and Covenants 49:16; “Wherefore, it is lawful that he should have one wife, and they twain shall be one flesh, and all this that the earth might answer the end of its creation.” [emp. mine]

Smith gave that revelation to Sidney Rigdon, Parley Pratt and Leman Copley May 7, 1831

Ten or More, Virgin Wives!

Smith gave this church-wide prophecy, mandating polygamy for salvation on July 12, 1843. However, the Church admits Smith was practicing this bad habit as early as 1831.

Doctrine and Covenants 132:31-32, 63; “This promise is yours also, because ye are of Abraham, and the promise was made unto Abraham; and by this law is the continuation of the works of my Father, wherein he glorifieth himself. 32 Go ye, therefore, and do the works of Abraham; enter ye into my law and ye shall be saved. 63 But if one or either of the ten virgins, after she is espoused, shall be with another man, she has committed adultery, and shall be destroyed; for they are given unto him to multiply and replenish the earth, according to my commandment, and to fulfil the promise which was given by my Father before the foundation of the world, and for their exaltation in the eternal worlds, that they may bear the souls of men; for herein is the work of my Father continued, that he may be glorified.”

2 Corinthians 11:4, 13-14; “For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. 13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”

Dear friends in the Lord, please, give heed to the words of the true apostles, James and Paul! If someone is giving you another gospel they didn’t preach, run the other way – and fast!

Mormons will be the first ones to tell you they don’t accept the Bible as it was originally written, so of course this means they do indeed, have another gospel they’re trying to pan off on you!

Jesus never told us being married in a certain building was mandatory, and surely the prophets of the OT days weren’t being married in them if they didn’t exist!

Another sign this isn’t from God is seen in the contradictions of Smith’s revelations. God’s word never changes – Isaiah 40:8 – but here in this Mormon canon you can see Smith’s gospel changed in the blink of an eye!

If the latter revelation was true, then why aren’t Mormons practicing polygamy today? If it’s changed, then why is this still in their canon? If you’re LDS which of these two revelations are legit?
