Malachi 2:8 “But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the LORD of hosts.”
There are numerous problems in today’s Mormon reference so let’s take a look at some of them!
1.Why were they shipping timber to North America? Did they not hear of the numerous forests up that way?
2.Verse sixteen in this passage is one long sentence containing 81 words. See article from two days ago (8/8/2016) listing the linguistic problems in the BoM for more info.
3.Why didn’t this group of people sail to Europe if their sea going vessels were worthy enough for shipping cement?
4.Where are the remnants of any cities built with cement?
5.Cement wasn’t used in a wide scale basis until the time of Nero, circa 60 AD. The use of cement became very prolific during the building of the Erie Canal in 1818 which just so happens to be where Joseph Smith lived at the time. For more info see article Book of Mormon Artifacts and Metallurgy Problems.
6.How was all this cement transported? Were they loading their barges with bags of Quikrete (dry cement), or large sections of buildings?
7.Where did the cement come from?
8.Who told them that timber was scarce in the north?
9.If you remove the majority of Helaman 3:14 above it’d read “But behold, a hundredth part of the proceedings of this people… cannot be contained in this work”. This sounds a lot like John 21:25 which reads –
“And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.”
Is it just another ‘coincidence’???
Of course our list could go on and on, but this should be enough evidence to show how the Book of Mormon isn’t an inspired work of God!
