December 15 – Owning the title, God. Psalm 45:6; “Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: The sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.”

Even from Jesus’ pre-existent life with the Father, He has owned the title of God and Elohim. He was neither ‘chosen’ for the job, nor was He just an ‘elder spirit brother’ to all of humanity. He was God then, just as He was fully God while walking the earth, and fully God after His resurrection!
Hebrews 1:8; “Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.”
Our fulfilled prophecy today is seen in the book of Hebrews, where its author (most likely the Apostle Paul), is describing Jesus’ exalted position over a superior priesthood, with a better covenant, and better promises. The fact that God established another covenant is proof something was missing, making the old covenant obsolete. Remember, the only one who can establish a new covenant is God. That exalted authority and privilege isn’t owned, nor facilitated by man, nor can it ever be so.
This is an incredibly awesome gift you can share with a Mormon right now! It gives them something to hope for during this holiday season, putting the focus where it should be; Christ Jesus!
Sadly, Joseph Smith tricked people into believing he established a new and everlasting covenant. Ugh… His version of the new and everlasting covenant was that of polygamy. How could it be new when polygamy’s been around since the dawn of time, and how could it be everlasting when the government declared it illegal?
Show the Mormon how the hopes of their people were dashed in 1904, and the only thing they have as a new and everlasting covenant is a long forgotten pile of crumpled papers sitting in a desk somewhere in Salt Lake.

Doctrine and Covenants Official Declaration—1 “Inasmuch as laws have been enacted by Congress forbidding plural marriages, which laws have been pronounced constitutional by the court of last resort, I hereby declare my intention to submit to those laws, and to use my influence with the members of the Church over which I preside to have them do likewise.
There is nothing in my teachings to the Church or in those of my associates, during the time specified, which can be reasonably construed to inculcate or encourage polygamy; and when any Elder of the Church has used language which appeared to convey any such teaching, he has been promptly reproved. And I now publicly declare that my advice to the Latter-day Saints is to refrain from contracting any marriage forbidden by the law of the land.
