February 25 – “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God; And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even death of the cross.” Phil. 2:5-6, 8.
There are actually two subjects to notice with this verse. Explain the word “robbery” to the Mormon. In the Greek, it means “grasped”. The other subject is the belief that Jesus had to perform, or work, to receive His salvation.
“If a man gets a fullness of the priesthood of God he has to get it in the same way that Jesus Christ obtained it, and that was by keeping all the commandments and obeying all the ordinances of the house of the Lord.” Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 308
