April 4 – Demonic visions. Titus 1:16; “They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate”.
Ask your Mormon friend for their opinion on how Talmage debased God’s creation. In 1899, LDS apostle James Talmage wrote a lengthy book he called ‘The Articles of Faith’ which is basically a thesis on the Church’s statement of faith. While describing the unbiblical angels of light that appeared to Joe Smith, paraphrasing, Talmage made the following observation –
‘Joseph’s Vision Shamed God’s Creation Work’.
Instead of debasing our Lord couldn’t Talmage praise Him?
Psalm 19:1; “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.”
Articles of Faith, p. 39; “Joseph Smith, while calling upon the Lord in fervent prayer for wisdom to guide him in his religious professions, saw the Father and the Son, standing in the midst of light which shamed the brightness of the sun, one of these declared of the other, “This is my beloved Son, Hear Him.” [emp. mine]
