Psalm 101:7; “He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: He that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.”
General Conference, ‘Gathering the Family of God,’ April 2017; “Today is April 1. Two days from now, April 3, marks 181 years from the day when Malachi’s prophecy was fulfilled. On that day, Elijah did come, and he gave to Joseph Smith the priesthood power to seal families eternally (see D&C 110:13–16). From that day to this, interest in exploring one’s family history has grown exponentially. …
Why is all of this happening? For lack of a better term, we call it the “spirit of Elijah.” We could also equally call it “fulfillment of prophecy.” I bear testimony that Elijah did come. The hearts of the children—of you and me—have turned to our fathers, our ancestors. The affection you feel for your ancestors is part of the fulfillment of that prophecy. It is deeply seated in your sense of who you are. But it has to do with more than just inherited DNA. …This is the work of our generation, what the Apostle Paul called “the dispensation of the fulness of times,” – Henry B. Eyring
2 Corinthians 11:13-14; “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”
Contrary to what Mr. Eyring falsely conveyed, the prophecy in Malachi was fulfilled long before Joe Smith and Mormonism came along. This was fulfilled the day John the Baptist started calling on people to repent for the Kingdom of Heaven was about to begin!
“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: 6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”
Secondly, the only reason the erroneous idea that Mormons feel a deep sense of belonging to their ancestors is because of the lies they’ve bought into from the leadership of this church. This is necromancy, and God condemns it! Leviticus 19:31.
Thirdly, our inherited DNA is neither holy, nor righteous. Man is a creature born into sin, and our tendencies to fight the so-called system (aka, God) is inherent in each of us. Paul expounds on this in Romans chapter seven by asking a rhetorical question; ‘why do I keep doing the things I do, when I don’t want to do them’? Also see Ecclesiastes 7:20.
