Profound Contradictions in Doctrines of 2 Mormon Prophets

 

 Improvement Era, Volume 19, No. 10, August 1916, pp. 936-937, 939; “Salvation is attainable only through compliance with the laws and ordinances of the Gospel; and all who are thus saved become sons and daughters unto God in a distinctive sense. … p. 939 That by obedience to the Gospel men may become sons of God, both as sons of Jesus Christ, and, through Him, as sons of His Father, is set forth in many revelations given in the current dispensation. …Those who have been born unto God through obedience to the Gospel may by valiant devotion to righteousness obtain exaltation and even reach the status of Godhood.” – Joseph Fielding Smith

 

 

 

Matthew 23:12; “And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.”

Acts 4:12; “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

Romans 10:9; “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

The biblical verses above should suffice in demonstrating Mr. Smith’s doctrines are all wrong.

Furthermore, their own doctrine contradicts his theory by denouncing self-exaltation. See D&C 76:26-28.

If the founding prophet of all this denounced godhood status, why are they now advocating it?
