October 2 – God’s Intelligence v. God is Intelligence. Exodus 3:14; “And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.”
_____
This statement by God to Moses had to be the most significant statement made about Himself, not what the Mormons said He stated. The fact that God would be considered ‘intelligence’ comes from the book of First John when he tried to explain to the Gnostics that salvation is not through intelligence, but through Christ Jesus and Him crucified. By the way, intelligence does not mean light and truth.
I AM THAT I AM is translated to YHWH in the Hebrew. It’s used over 6,000 times in the Old Testament alone. It is by far the most holy name of God, and to be used only with the utmost respect and reverence.
The Israelites understood it to mean this rendition of His name was too holy to utter aloud, thus their usage of the name Adonai (Jehovah).

“God concluded His explanation to Moses with the most significant and most marvelous statement regarding the work and glory of God to be found in religious literature. He declared: For behold, this is my work and my glory—to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. Another declaration which is almost equally as important as the one just cited was given to the Prophet Joseph Smith by revelation. It is: “The glory of God is intelligence, or, in other words, light and truth.”” Milton R. Hunter, The Gospel through the Ages, 6.
Not only the Mormons have such a twisted idea about the “I Am that I am” the Only One True God. Allah Who appeared to Abraham is a singular Being Who declared to Be the Being Who no man can see, but lots of Christians have made a man into their god and say because he regularly responded with “I am” like we would do when asked a question and confirming it, so that would make us also into god?!?
Allah Who said “’eheyeh ’asher ’eheyeh” or “I am that which I am. His Name is יהוה = Jehovah. (Adonai is a title like Allah is a title, but not a name.)
Jehovah, YHWH, and Adonai are all titles for God, but are often used as a name because they describe some attribute of God. These titles were often used as a name in the Hebrew text because they had no other way to refer to God. So yes, it is a title but also used as a name.
When Jesus declared to be the I Am, He was declaring to be God. The Scriptures prophesied about Him before He came to earth, and He fulfilled those prophesies. He wasn’t merely responding to a question, He was rightfully proclaiming His deity. The Jews tried to stone Him because they knew what He was saying. It is proven through the Old Testament prophesies including His death. He was raised from the dead as He prophesied He would, and sent His Holy Spirit. He is one God, YHWH, Jehovah, Adonai.
Mormons, like Muslims, have tried to make ordinary men and false teachers into gods. The two religions have very striking similarities.
