As Christians we believe the Scriptures to be the infallible Word of God – theopneustos. It is literally God breathed. If the Bible is from God Himself, how can the Mormons believe what Smith had to say here?

Smith taught our souls are eternal. In the Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 352 he said; “Where did it (man’s soul) come from? All learned men and doctors of divinity say that God created it in the beginning; but it is not so: the very idea lessens man in my estimation.”
