2 Samuel 22:31; “As for God, his way is perfect; The word of the Lord is tried: He is a buckler to all them that trust in him.”
Despite Joseph Smith’s illustrious promise the Book of Mormon is ‘the most correct book on the face of the earth’, one can find thousands upon thousands of errors. We’re looking at just one of those notorious faux pas’ here.
Today’s mistake has to do with the wrong info for locations. Here we go!
2 Nephi 19:1; “Nevertheless, the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun, and the land of Naphtali, and afterwards did more grievously afflict by the way of the Red Sea beyond Jordan in Galilee of the nations.
“[T]his generation of Jews shall not pass away until every desolation which I have told you concerning them shall come to pass.”
Isaiah 9:1; “Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, When at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, And afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, Beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.”
Why did the Book of Mormon think the Sea of Galilee was the Red Sea?
If Smith was going to the trouble of plagiarizing Isaiah, he shouldn’t have inserted his own ignorance regarding geography into the mix.
Pray that the Mormons who read this will pick up a map, and see the problem their prophet created for himself.
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
