1 Corinthians 14:33; “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.”
James 1:13; “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man”.
Colossians 1:16-17; “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”
Paul’s description of God’s nature leaves no wiggle room for any foreign philosophies to creep in unannounced. If something wasn’t created by God’s sovereign hand, it simply doesn’t exist. This would include the theory of other gods. Moreover, He’s a God of His word. He doesn’t speak out of both sides of His mouth, and everything He has said is trustworthy.
Likewise in no uncertain terms, James emphatically told young Jewish believers not to blame God for your wrongdoings because the Omnipotent God of the Universe didn’t force you to turn your back on Him.
The four verses seen here are more than sufficient in proving the twelve points we counted in Bruce McConkie’s teaching, to be fallacious lies.
Mr. McConkie’s book is still a viable resource used by the Church today, so be sure to ask the Mormon you know for their opinion about what you’ve read here!
We’re wondering…why would God need a man to lie and disobey, so His plan of salvation would be fulfilled? What type of god would do that?
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
