Wilford Woodruff’s Journal: Volume 7, p. 83 & Today in Mormon History; “– 145 years ago… – Mar 30, 1873 — [Wilford Woodruff] Again Presidet Young said Joseph the Prophet told me that the garden of Eden was in Jackson Co Missouri, & when Adam was driven out of the garden of Eden He went about 40 miles to the Place which we Named Adam Ondi Ahman, & there built an Altar of Stone & offered Sacrifize. That Altar remains to this day. I saw it as Adam left it as did many others, & through all the revolutions of the world that Altar had not been disturbed. Joseph also said that when the City of Enoch fled & was translated it was whare the gulf of Mexico now is. It left that gulf a body of water.” – Also see: Wilford Woodruff’s Journal: 1833-1898 Typescript, Volumes 1-9, Edited by Scott G. Ephesians 4:14; “That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive”.
May we all take a page from Paul’s character, and never miss the opportunity to stand up for truth.
Are the scenarios Mr. Woodruff mentioned plausible? If not, then we must disregard them by the standards of what God’s word says – Deut. 18:20-22.
Where in the Bible does it say an entire city was ‘translated’? Moreover, all one has to do is look at a map to know the Garden of Eden is certainly not in Missouri.
Ask the Mormon you know what they think of these things and be sure to let them know you’re praying for them!
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
