October 22 –– Blood of Jesus, v. Joseph’s Polygamy. Jeremiah 31:31; “Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah”.
Matthew 26:28; “For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”

The Messiah would be the new covenant…Mormons believe the new covenant is that of polygamy. How could an adulterous sexual relationship outside a monogamous marriage take the place of Jesus’ spilt blood on the cross for us? Ask a Mormon for their opinion on this, and explain the meaning of the word ‘everlasting’.

D&C 132:4; “For behold, I reveal unto you a new and an everlasting covenant; and if ye abide not that covenant, then are ye damned; for no one can reject this covenant and be permitted to enter into my glory.” – Joseph Smith, July 12, 1843
I always like to point to D&C 132 when Mormons tell me they don’t practice polygamy any more. I point out that it is still doctrine and that according to it they MUST be polygamous to be with God. OF course they then begin making claims about it being spiritual, yada, yada, yada, but the context doesn’t say that and I loves to see the steam coming out of their ears.
